Sharks.. long feared and regarded as deadly 'man-eaters' of the sea, This reputation goes largely unfounded as there are more than 400 species of Sharks recognised, and whilst all sharks are carnivores, not all are predators and very few pose any threat to humans. Indeed, for every human killed by a Shark, 20 million Sharks are killed by humans.
Relentlessly persecuted out of fear or for sport, and now by commercial fishing interests, they are fast becoming the concern of conservation groups and other wildlife enthusiasts.
Adopt a Shark and gain an appreciation of the beauty of these magnificent predators, together with an awareness of the importance of their role in a fragile marine environment.
